Revenge of the Sith

Overheard in the gents at Wala last week:

Youngling1 from a nearby tertiary institute: Hey dude, have you watch the latest Star Wars?

Youngling2 from the same nearby institute: Not yet. Might go get the tix later.

Youngling1 from a nearby tertiary institute: Heard it's quite good.

Youngling2 from the same nearby institute: Ya, heard Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader.

Youngling1 from a nearby tertiary institute: No shit??!!? That's cool dude! I will go catch it this weekend!

Me: (-_-")

ps. if you are wondering whether I watched the show. No. I will only watch it if a copy of it, pirated or not, land on my lap. I slept through the other 2 parts...

pps. if you want my honest opinion of Star Wars... the first trilogy rulezzzzzzz... the second blows, bigtime.

if

If your pride were to manifest into a minotaur,
I would gladly wrestle it into submission.
If my anger were to be embodied in a fire elemental,
I would fervently fight it with water.

Sadly... Life's decisions can't be made with numbers from a set of dices.

Farewell

I put her arms gently around the big Pooh soft-toy that she like to hug to sleep with. Then I pulled the quilt over her and made sure she was snug and warm. I smiled at her sweet sleeping form and planted a goodbye kiss on her forehead before I left for work.

This has been a routine for months. I would always linger at the doorway to the bedroom looking at her, smiling to myself, happy to be in love with such a wonderful woman. Sometimes I would go back in again to sit next to her on the bed. I would brush her cheek lightly and plant a few more kisses on her face, before I go.

This morning, I gave her the usual goodbye kiss. Little did I know that was the final farewell kiss I would be giving her. As I was leaving the house, I decided to give her a surprise. I took an old picture of myself, with a note written on the back, to slip into her wallet so she might discover it in delight someday.

As I opened the additional flap on the wallet that houses the transparent section, my heart stopped. It was a picture of him and her in hugging in bliss in a pool. It has been months since they were supposed to have broken up. And here he is again. He was never really gone. He presence was always there. I could see his face mocking me, for believing he was really gone. I could see her face laughing at me, ridiculing me for being the fool who believed in her.. in us...

Lies... It was all lies...

Congratulations! You're 130 proof, with specific scores in beer (100) , wine (83), and liquor (86).

Screw all that namby-pamby chick stuff, you're going straight for the
bottle and a shot glass! It'll take more than a few shots of Wild
Turkey or 99 Bananas before you start seeing pink elephants. You know
how to handle your alcohol, and yourself at parties.

Looking for mate

Good looking young male adult looking for like-minded female adult to mate.
Sleek, lean and affectionate. Quiet and introspective in the day. Party animal in the night.

Please note that I am not looking for a soulmate. I enjoy the limelight way too much to start a family. I am just looking for a mate(if you know what I mean). I am not interested in the by-product of the union. You can keep those for free. I just want to relief some pent-up frustrations so I will stop wailing at night. The human in my home is threatening to make cat curry out of me if the humans in the neighbourhood complain to him. I seriously wonder what the hell is the big deal but well... he feeds me and listen to my complains every morning... so i will put up with him a while more.

Enough of my history. Interested, and attractive females please leave me a message.
Cheers.

What happens Tomorrow?

A bunch of veteran Singaporean bloggers have come together to start a "bulletin of Singapore Bloggers". It seems to be a content aggregating site which gathers 'interesting' posts from Singaporean blogs. The term 'interesting' is, of course, subjective.

It is well and good to have a body which digs out rare gems of writing artistry to feature to the general public. However, is it good to label a work of art to a country?

I am all supportive to have a group to promote and encourage blogging in this country. This body can help to re-affirm that there are good writers in Singapore. It might even be able to encourage the closet writers to put their creative works online for all to appreciate. It can work as a gathering place for Singaporean bloggers to congregate, to discuss with peers, to advise and nudge the young ones, to make the new ones feel at home.

In a nutshell, this body can perform the functions the Chinese Clans did during the old days when the Chinese migrated to SEAsia for opportunities. However, if care is not taken, it might go down the drain as per the Clan fights during those days.

There are some negative paths which I hope not to see this group heading:
1) This group becoming the authorities(or 'gahmen') of the local blogging community.
2) This group telling bloggers what to and what not to write.
3) This group leading their followers on a vendetta against bloggers who might have written something negative about them.

The beauty of the blogging world is its inconsistency. The wide spectrum of views, visions and ideas, from the logical to outright bizarre, is what colours the medium. Every blogger has his own version of truth. Every blogger is responsible for his own words.

I hope in the years down the road, the editors remember why they started blogging as an individual. I hope they remember why they started Tomorrow.

I write.. therefore I am.
