Samhain Eve

The Veil thins.
The Doors open.
The fey out.
The Wild Hunt about.

The day dies.
The new night begins.
The line blurs
between the worlds.

A night for evil spirits.
A night for the frivolous Faeries.
A night not for mortals,
so please do stay indoors.

Believe not,
what you see tonight.
Keep the hearth fires
burning bright.

Ignore the tapping on your door.
Listen not to the scratching on the floor.
Pray for the darkness to end,
On the night of Hallow's e'en.

Secret Garden

"Welcome to the Secret Garden! Where all troubles will be forgotten; all wounds healed. When you step out of this sanctuary, it will be as a new, refreshed being..." He grinned.

He was a smallish green creature, with bulging eyes, a bulb of a nose and a wide devilish grin. I caught a glimpse of his tiny yellowish fangs again which he took no effort to conceal.

"This!" he flourished. "is The One Tree. Some say that our world was born from one of the branches of This Magnificent Tree. Some say our world is but a leaf out of the many on the branches of The One Tree. But enough of that, we are not here to discuss theology. We are here to unburden you."

The Tree looked old. Very old. Ten men linked hand to hand, would not be able to wrap themselves around even half the ancient trunk. I looked up into the canopy. It was so dense that no light could pass through. There was some soft rustling as I sensed small creatures scuttling above us amongst the branches.

"You see these man-sized trenches dug at the base of The Tree? We call them the Heall Holes. Step inside and let us nourish you with the al natural minerals from our soil. It will soothe all pains and aches of an affluence lifestyle. The Roots of the One Tree will sap the pressure of work, the anguish of love lost, the bitterness of unacceptance from you. You will be a new man when the treatment is done!" he grinned again.

I stepped into the nearest Heall Hole as instructed.

"Welcome to the Secret Garden! Where all troubles will be forgotten; all wounds healed. When you step out of this sanctuary, it will be as a new, refreshed being..." He soothed as he shoveled earth onto me.

I could feel the small creepy crawlies on my body as he threw soil into the Heall Hole.

"Welcome to the Secret Garden! Where all troubles will be forgotten; all wounds healed. When you step out of this sanctuary, it will be as a new, refreshed being..." He chanted, as he covered me to my shoulders with soil.

I could smell the warm soothing scent of the soil as my head was slowing buried in soil.

"Welcome to the Secret Garden! Where all troubles will be forgotten; all wounds healed. When you step out of this sanctuary, it will be as a new, refreshed being..." He chanted.

"if you get to leave.."

Somehow I knew.. And it didn't matter..

life

"Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.."
