It's a dog's year.
Feel like adopting a dog for good luck? Well, what are you gonna do when the Dog's Year is up? The novelty of having a pet fades, the new animal, according to the chinese zodiac, becomes the new fad and the previous gets dumped.
Please, if you really want to, go adopt a virtual pet instead.
